| Ambystoma maculatum, the spotted salamander, has a large, fleshy tongue that is attached to the lower jaw and cannot be protruded very far. It is quite fast, nonetheless, and can capture large prey. This video was recorded at 3,000 frames per second and plays back at about 30, or 100 times slower. |
